Kalemie, September 15th, 2026 (CPA).- A batch of machinery purchased with the provincial government’s own funds by the Tanganyika Provincial Government (south-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)) was unveiled on Tuesday to the people of Kalemie to support road construction and modernisation works, the CPA has learnt from official sources.
“The aim is to gradually deploy this equipment not only in the town of Kalemie, but also across the six territories of Tanganyika Province, in order to support the construction, rehabilitation and modernisation of the road network,” has said Christian Kitungwa, Governor of Tanganyika.
He has specified that this batch consists of bulldozers, excavators, tipper lorries, motor graders, road rollers and many other types of machinery, thus constituting the first batch of equipment acquired using the Tanganyika Provincial Government’s own funds, which has been presented to various sections of the population.
Governor Kitungwa announced that further machinery, comprising a second batch of equipment, will arrive shortly. CPA
