Technical inspection: 15 days remaining for road users in Kinshasa (Press release)

Kinshasa, July 23rd, 2026 (CPA).- The road users in the city of Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), have fifteen (15) non-renewable days to have their vehicles undergo a technical inspection, according to a press release received on Thursday by CPA.

“Following its official press release No. 004/DG/BSG/Cellcom/2026 of July 8th, 2026, granting a 30-day period for vehicles to undergo voluntary inspection at approved technical inspection centres, the Kinshasa Impound and Vehicle Technical Inspection Authority reminds road users that they have 15 non-extendable days remaining to have their vehicles inspected,” it is read in the statement signed by Joseph Kasinzi, general director of the Kinshasa Impound and Vehicle Technical Inspection Authority (RFCK). Once this deadline has passed, the document states, a general and systematic vehicle impound operation will be carried out from Monday, August 10th, 2026, across the entire city of Kinshasa.

According to the document, the RFCK has also urged those subject to the regulations not to wait until the deadline, as no exceptions will be made. The RFCK is a public body of the city of Kinshasa responsible for vehicle technical inspections and the management of impound yards. Its main tasks include carrying out periodic technical inspections of cars and motorbikes, ensuring compliance with road safety and environmental protection standards, and managing impound yards and impounding vehicles that are in breach of the law or do not comply with regulations.
