Kikwit , July 21st, 2025(CPA) – The population of Kikwit, Kwilu province, in the south-west of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has been reassured of the improvement in the quality and quantity of water to prevent cholera and other water-borne diseases, at an evaluation meeting held on Monday in Kikwit. « We reassure the population of Kwilu province that we are increasingly improving the quality and quantity of water in order to prevent cholera, including all other water-borne diseases. The water distribution company (Regideso) never sends untreated water, » has said Gabriel Mukindji, provincial director of Regideso/Grand Bandundu. ‘We have fought hard to achieve the targets we were given in all the centres in general, and to resolve the technical breakdowns that caused the water shortage in Kikwit recently,’ he has added. Gabriel Mukindji has also called on the population to have confidence in Regideso, by drinking water from their taps without. ACP/
