Kinshasa, November 19th, 2025 (CPA).- An awareness and mobilization campaign called “Tosa ba tosa yo,” (Respect, they will respect you) aimed at ending irregular practices in the transport sector, was launched on Wednesday by the governor of Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, during a ceremony held in the Congolese capital. “The current campaign aims to restore the authority of the state and put an end to irregular practices such as the illegal occupation of half-plots of land, disorder on routes, and the circulation of unidentified transport agents,” said Daniel Bumba, governor of the city of Kinshasa.
“In an urban environment, the norm must take precedence over everything else. Without it, no effort can produce good results,” he added. Governor Bumba pointed out that this initiative is a continuation of previous actions such as the demolition of illegal buildings. “All officers must now wear a uniform. No one will be able to work without official identification,” he emphasized.
On this occasion, the first 500 transport officers assigned to regulating and enforcing traffic standards were presented to the urban authority by the provincial minister of transport and urban mobility, Jésus-Noël Sheke, who reminded them that from now on, no officer can claim this status without wearing a distinctive uniform, namely a dark blue shirt for controllers and sky blue for inspectors. In the presence of Deputy Governor Eddy Iyeli and Provincial Minister of Transport and Urban Mobility Jésus Noël Sheke, the governor of the city of Kinshasa, Daniel Bumba, personally launched the official awareness and mobilization campaign “Tosa Ba Tosa Yo,” we conclude.
