US-DRC Religious Diplomacy: Love, Forgiveness, Faith, Preached to the Congolese

Kinshasa, July 14th, 2025 (CPA).- Love, forgiveness, faith, and revival were preached to the people of the Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday by an American pastor and advisor to President Trump, during the celebration in Kinshasa of the ecumenical service for peace in the eastern part of the country. « God loves the DRC. God also loves the United States. His will for our two nations is that we not be weak in prayer. (…) God will deliver the DRC. To do this, let us not have a faith that will begin to waver in the face of various life events. Rather, we need people who have a strong faith to transform things in this country, » declared Pastor Travis Johnson, Deputy Director of the White House Office. « God’s intention in Psalm 133:3 is that we, as brothers, may dwell together, for in this way he will send his blessing. Therefore, if we live in unity, God will bless us, deliver us, and save us. Let us be united in the Lord because, according to his ability, he can give us victory, » he added. Before more than 3,000 worshippers from different religious denominations, the American pastor recalled the recent signing of the peace agreement between the DRC and Rwanda, before emphasizing that the Congolese need not only peace, but also revival. « Recently, President Trump led an initiative that resulted in the signing of the peace treaty between Rwanda and the DRC. (…) I am convinced that God will bring peace to this country. As the Prince of Peace, I remain convinced that Jesus will change our history, including that of the United States, » said the American President’s spiritual advisor, urging the Congolese to pray not only for peace, but also for revival in the DRC. President Trump’s arrival in power: a trigger for peace in the DRC Pastor Travis Johnson, addressing the crowd attending the ecumenical service in Kinshasa. « God has begun a process of pacification in the DRC, but also a process that is raising the DRC as a giant. The arrival of President Trump is a trigger for finally finding peace in the DRC. » And President Trump sent the pastors who work with him, who contributed to the composition and the peace agreement we signed between the DRC and Rwanda, but who are also actors in the preparation of the agreement concluded between the United States and the DRC. “These pastors came to publicly testify, before the Congolese people, of the spiritual alliance between the United States and the DRC,” declared Pastor Jacques Kambala, Deputy Coordinator of the cell of innovation and change of mentality (CICM). For his part, Ejiba Yamapia, president and legal representative of the Revival Churches in Congo (ERC), thanked the United States for its unwavering support in restoring peace in the DRC. “We thank the United States because they stood with us to help us achieve peace after 30 years of war, regarding the peace agreement between Rwanda and the DRC, between the United States and the DRC. As a Church, we support this and pray to God to accelerate everything. Our prayer is that God bless America and all other countries that align with America. We bless President Félix Tshisekedi. We also bless President Donald Trump,” he concluded. Organized at the instigation of the President of the Republic, this service is part of the diplomatic process between the two states. Its objective was to implore God’s peace for the DRC.
