War of aggression: Rwanda reinforces its troops in the eastern DRC (Ministry in charge of Defence)

Kinshasa, October 29th, 2025 (CPA).- The government of the Democratic Republic of Congo has denounced on Wednesday, in a statement, the reinforcement of the AFC-M23-RDF (Rwandan army) coalition, both in terms of manpower and equipment coming from Rwanda, as well as repeated attacks on loyalist forces’ positions.

‘DRC continues to suffer aggression from its neighbour, Rwanda, under the guise of the AFC/M23, despite the on-going peace process and the outstretched hand of His Excellency the President of DRC, Supreme Commander of the FARDC,’ it is read in the communique from the Ministry in charge of National Defence signed by Guy Kabombo, the minister responsible. In the occupied areas, the source has specified, the population is suffering atrocities and serious human rights violations.

‘The population is being used as human shields by the aggressor,’ the statement has explained. The Deputy Prime Minister in charge of National Defence has further affirmed that the government of the Republic has a sacred duty to protect its population and cannot under any circumstances subject it to further suffering.

‘The government’s main concern remains the restoration of the integrity of its territory,’ he has reassured. Furthermore, the statement has indicated, the Armed Forces of DRC (FARDC) remain mobilised, disciplined and committed to defending territorial integrity and restoring peace in all occupied areas, and the Ministry in charge of National Defence has called on the population to remain calm and vigilant towards its army. CPA/
