Kinshasa, December 16th, 2025 (CPA).- American diplomacy has pushed Rwanda and the AFC-M23 to announce their withdrawal from Uvira in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where too many crimes have been committed by the Rwandan army, which has used artillery and indiscriminate kamikaze drones. Enough is enough!
It is in a statement signed by Corneille Nangaa, the warlord of the AFC M23, this armed group, and former president of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), that the announcement has been made. A spokesperson would be disrespectful to the powerful America to the point that, in the hurry caused by the strong pressure from Kigali, the warlord has put the date of ‘November 15th’ instead of ‘December 15th’.
The Congolese diplomacy has made the United States of America, Europe and the entire international community face up to their responsibilities. A flood of statements and messages has been immediately recorded both during meetings and in public communications. The European Union, the US Senate, the Secretary of State and the US Ambassador to the United Nations have all spoken out against the crimes committed in Uvira and its surroundings after the signing of the Washington Agreements.
The US has gone far in the UN Security Council. Ambassador Mike Waltz has pointed the finger at Rwandan President Kagame, accusing him of of being the mastermind behind the crimes committed in the attacks on Uvira.
Smart communication
These pressures have been supported by the smart communication strategy implemented by the Government of the Republic. It is clear that the Congolese have understood that it is time to change their communication paradigm. Minister Patrick Muyaya is developing consistent talking points and making them available to the media. A thorough groundwork with the Congolese and foreign media is currently undermining Rwanda’s strategy. If the concept of ‘Rwandan poison’ has thrown Rwanda off balance, it is now clear that diplomacy has given the Minister in charge of Communication the material he needs to regain control of the Republic’s communication.
