World Children’s Day: UNICEF calls for the creation of a prosperous world

Kinshasa, November 20th, 2025 (CPA).- A call for unity to build a world where children can thrive and for the strengthening of actions in favour of children’s rights has been launched on Thursday in Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, on the occasion of World Children’s Day, according to UNICEF’s X account. ‘It’s World Children’s Day! Together, we can build a world where children thrive and reach their full potential. For every child, all its rights,’ it is read. According to the source, the children’s rights, according to this organisation, are human rights, however, today, in too many places around the world, these rights are threatened. Celebrated every November 20th, the international day marks the adoption of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) in November 1989, by Resolution 44/25 of the United Nations General Assembly. It commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child on November 20th, 1959 and the International Convention on the Rights of the Child by the United Nations General Assembly. This day aims to promote international solidarity, the sensitisation of children around the world and the improvement of their well-being.
