The Minister in charge of Transport for connectivity between the cities of ECCAS and the DRC

Kinshasa, June 19th, 2021 (CPA).– The connectivity of cities in the area of ​​the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) and those of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) was on the menu of discussions, Thursday between the Minister of Transport, communication routes and opening up, Chérubin Okende Senga, and the resident representative of this organization Theodore Njikam, learned the CPA desk on Friday from this ministry.

To ensure this connectivity, the two personalities reviewed all the projects initiated within the development framework of the sub-region which relate to the development and construction of road, river and air infrastructure.

For Mr. Njikam, this meeting allowed to situate the framework of cooperation between the DRC and ECCAS in the transport sector, before declaring himself satisfied with the conclusions between his organization and the DRC and especially with the support of the government of the DRC in the realization aimed at the development of ECCAS.

The Minister in charge of Transport, communication routes and opening up, Okende, welcomed the interview given that a good number of ECCAS projects meet the vision of the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, in its component aimed at opening up the DRC, a country with continental dimensions.

The same source indicates that the Minister of Transport exchanged the same day with the Special Advisor to the Head of State in Environmental Matters on the development of the country from the transport sector.

The advisor, on the occasion, praised the determination of the Minister of Transport who intends to work within the framework of the realization of the vision of the President of the Republic in this sector. ACP/
