North Kivu: The “Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi” Foundation assists the wives of soldiers with food and other goods

Goma, June 25th, 2021 (CPA).- The first lady of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi, through the foundation that bears her name, on Thursday handed over a large quantity of food and other goods to the wives of the military and police officers living in Katindo and Munzenze camps in Goma to their great satisfaction.

The humanitarian cargo was conveyed on site by Mrs. Sarah Biselele, in charge of social within this charitable structure which justified this action by the concern of the Head of State’s wife to see the families of those who fight for the countries do not feel forgotten.

“We thought that we had already been forgotten by the First Lady because we could hear her in several circles assisting the displaced and the disaster victims. We are very happy to see this assistance. Many thanks to Mom Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi and to her husband the Baba wa Taifa or Father of the Nation « exclaimed one of the very emotional beneficiaries.

Shortly before, in the midst of several people, Mrs. Sarah Biselele, alongside the coordinator of this Foundation, justified the absence of the 1st Lady by the fact that she is in many fields of charitable actions.

In view of the 3rd wave of Covid-19, Mrs. Nyakeru’s envoy killed two birds with one stone to call on the wives of men in uniform to respect the barrier measures decreed by the Head of State with the support from health partners. She took the opportunity to announce the upcoming placement of a large water tank at the entrance to the camp in order to facilitate handwashing for entrants and exits from this site in the city, which is very frequented by a heterogeneous population.

The same charitable action was taken at the location of the wives of the police officers at the Goma central prison camp, where the families of the police officers had also benefited from the assistance of the Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi foundation.

Beyond words of thanks, the beneficiaries of this gesture of heart, whose wives of the police officers pleaded for the construction of toilets as well as the improvement of their husbands’ salaries for the good care of their respective families.

It should be noted that the Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi Foundation has been mobilized in the distribution of food and non-food in the agglomeration of Goma and in part of the territory of Nyiragongo for 4 weeks in order to restore smiles to thousands of destitute households. almost everything in the aftermath of the unexpected volcanic eruption of Nyiragongo.
