Kinshasa, December 11th, 2025 (CPA) . – Training young people in practical trades is one of the targeted actions of the “Kin Elenda” project, said the coordinator of the “Network of Educators of Street Children and Youth (Reejer)” on Thursday during a meeting in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo.
“Our presence here aims to support the local implementation of the Kin-Elenda project through several targeted actions: training young laborers in practical trades, raising awareness of social life, training in entrepreneurship, and post-training support for better socio-economic integration,” said Rémy Mafu. He made this statement during a meeting with the office of the chief administrator of the municipality of Matete (in central Kinshasa), Reejer, and the Matete Local Development Committee (CLD-Matete), as part of the mobilization of stakeholders in the “Kin-Elenda” project. According to him, the Reejer delegation took this opportunity to present the main lines of its mission in the municipality as an implementing partner of the World Bank-funded “Kin-Elenda” project. “The Matete Local Development Committee, as a community structure, welcomed this initiative and expressed its willingness to work closely with Reejer to ensure the success of the project in the area,” he continued. The Kin-Elenda project aims to improve living conditions in disadvantaged urban neighborhoods of Kinshasa through social inclusion initiatives, rehabilitation of basic infrastructure, and support for vulnerable young people.
