Kinshasa, April 26th, 2021 (CPA).- AS Maniema Union of Kindu still retains the leadership after their goalless draw conceded against AS V. Club on Saturday at the Martyrs of Pentecost stadium, in Kinshasa, in a match of the Day 20 of the 26th National Football League Championship (LINAFOOT). Beaten (0-1), last Wednesday in Kindu, at the Joseph Kabila Kabange stadium, Maniema Union approached the game with the appearance of an outrageous offensive. As proof, from the start of the first period Maxi Mpia Nzengeli, on an incursion into the heart of the defense of the Kinshasa Black Dolphins, was mown down by Ousmane Ouattara (3rd) in the fatal area. Mercey Ngimbi Mvumbi, in charge of taking the penalty, was clumsy when he saw his shot returned by V.Club’s goalkeeper Simon Omossola. Esquinté on this action of the penalty, Ouattara (10th) is forced to leave the field in favor of Sidi Yacoub. Dominator, Maniema Union missed yet another opening scoring opportunity by the same Mercey Ngimbi in an ideal position but not lucky whose ball chooses the setting. On another move, Omossola is forced to save his own by deflecting to a corner, the execution of which is unproductive. In the meantime, on two occasions, V.Club reacted with Fiston Kalala Mayele whose two strikes are of no consequence.
On resumption, the Kindu club, still dominant, put more pressure on the accelerator and found the net but the achievement was canceled for a contentious position.
Subsequently, on both sides, the players become aware of the challenge of the day and try to make a difference without succeeding. The 3 minutes of added time also does not allow the two opponents to carry the change to the scoreboard until the last whistle. This goalless draw is favorable to Maniema Union, which is still leader with 50 points in 23 outings, while V.Club remains in 2nd position with 49 points after 21 matches delivered.
