Kinshasa, December 16th, 2025 (CPA) – Progress made by the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in the fight against corruption have been presented by the Minister in charge of Justice in Doha (Qatar) at the 11th session of the United Nations Conference against Corruption, according to the ministry’s account consulted on Tuesday by CPA.
‘DRC, a State Party to the Convention, has presented an overview of the progress made and the prospects it is currently working on,’ has declared Guillaume Ngefa, Minister of State in charge of Justice, according to this account X. And to add: ‘The recent injunctions issued to the civil and military judicial authorities against mining fraud and land and property theft are part of this repeatedly stated commitment to fight corruption.’ According to the same source, the Minister of State, Minister in charge of Justice and Keeper of the Seals is leading a delegation from his cabinet as well as representatives of national bodies involved in the fight against corruption and financial crime, including the National Financial Intelligence Unit (CENAREF), the Agency for the Prevention and Fight against Corruption (APLC), the Observatory for the Monitoring of Corruption and Professional Ethics (OSCEP) and the EITI.
The same source has also reported that the presence of Minister of State Guillaume Ngefa in Doha has also had a bilateral dimension, marked by a one-on-one meeting with his Qatari counterpart last Monday, which was devoted to the implementation of the judicial cooperation agreement recently signed between the two countries. It should be noted that the 11th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption will take place from December 15th to 19th, 2025, in Doha, the capital of Qatar.
