DRC: Increase of 0.51 per cent in the international price of a tonne of copper

Kinshasa, September 14^th, 2026 (CPA): – The price of a tonne of copper, an export commodity of the Democratic Republic of Congo, has increased by 0.51 per cent on international markets, trading at USD 14,535.25 on September 14^th, 2026, compared with USD 14,461.25 the previous week, According to foreign trade price indices consulted on Monday by the CPA. “The price of a tonne of copper has risen on international markets during the period from September 14^th to 19^th, 2026. This metal is trading at USD 14,535.25 in the week under review, compared with USD 14,461.25 the previous week, representing an increase of 0.51 per cent per tonne,” it is stated. Compared with the week of August 24^th to 29^th, 2026, the price of a tonne of copper has also risen on the international markets. The mineral is trading at USD 14,437.50 during that week, compared with USD 14,356.20 the previous week, representing an increase of 0.56 per cent per tonne. The price of a tonne of copper has seen an increase on international markets during the period from September 7^th to 12^th, 2026. This mineral is trading at USD 14,461.25 in the week under review, compared with USD 14,350.20 the previous week, representing an increase of 0.77 per cent per tonne. The DRC is the leading copper producer in Africa. The country’s mines have produced 2.8 million tonnes in 2023, enabling DRC to rise to second place among the world’s copper-producing countries.ACP/
