Kinshasa, January 8th, 2026 (CPA).- The authorities of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have been urged to campaign for a lasting peace based on respect for human dignity during an awareness day organised in Kinshasa, the country’s capital. ‘I urge Congolese the leaders to campaign for a lasting peace based on the respect and the dignity of human beings for the well-being of the nation,’ has declared Thierry Kasongo, coordinator of a civil society organisation, calling for a collective commitment to national cohesion. In addition, this activity has also highlighted the emergence of a cultural columnist who has made a name for herself in the Congolese media landscape through the broadcast of her original programme entitled ‘HD Elengi’. Several iconic figures of Congolese music, including Fally Ipupa, Ferre Gola, JB Mpiana and Koffi Olomide, have actively participated in this flagship programme broadcast on Congo Web TV, contributing to its popularity. According to corroborating sources, the journalist plans to launch a new political programme entitled ‘Les couloirs du Parlement’ (The Corridors of Parliament), also known as ‘Échos du Parlement’ (Echoes of Parliament). It should be noted that this media professional is a journalist by training. She is also president of Zone Afrique and the non-profit organisation Parlement des femmes des médias pour le développement (PARFEM-D) (Parliament of Women in Media for Development).
