Kinshasa, April 7th, 2026 (CPA) – The Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo reaffirmed Tuesday its determination to significantly improve the country’s business climate during a meeting between the Prime Minister and a delegation of ambassadors representing Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas, according to a communiqué. “Judith Suminwa Tuluka reaffirmed her Government’s commitment to significantly improving the business climate. She reminded that the first pillar of the Executive Action Program emphasizes economic stabilization through ongoing dialogue between the public and private sectors, job creation, and the protection of households’ purchasing power,” the communiqué from the Prime Minister in charge communication office read. During the meeting, several obstacles to investment were highlighted, including complex taxation, legal insecurity, enforcement of subcontracting laws, and the issue of the guaranteed minimum wage (SMIG). Diplomats stressed the need to create an environment conducive to investment, capable of securing existing projects, attracting new investors, and fostering sustainable economic growth.
