Kinshasa, July 20th, 2025 (CPA). – A new factory producing medical, pharmaceutical, industrial and aeronautical gas was inaugurated on Saturday in the commune of Limete, in the center of Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, according to a statement from the Ministry of Industry received by CPA on Sunday.  ‘Louis Watum Kabamba, Minister in charge of Industry and SME Development, officially inaugurated the OXYGAZ RDC plant, the first of its kind in the Democratic Republic of Congo for the production of medical, pharmaceutical, industrial and aeronautical gases,’ the statement said.  According to the statement, this inauguration is the result of a private Congolese investment of nearly $2 million, reinforced by financial support from the Industry Promotion Fund (FPI) amounting to $1.6 million. ‘This major industrial project illustrates the rise of local content and national entrepreneurship,’ the source said.  As a result, the factory, as stated in the press release, will create 50 direct jobs and 100 indirect jobs, with concrete prospects for expansion into other provinces of the country, thus contributing to the government’s policy of inclusive and territorial reindustrialization.
