Lubumbashi, December 22nd, 2025 (CPA) – School supplies were handed out on Monday to pupils at Katuba 1 Primary School in the Katuba district of Lubumbashi, in the south-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, by the Centre for Development and Involvement (CIDI) during a ceremony. ‘As part of the “I Love My School” program, we organized this activity, which aims to promote education, particularly for girls, while supporting the construction and equipping of schools,’ said Jérémie Mwenze, provincial coordinator of CIDI Haut-Katanga. The school supplies included notebooks, pens, rulers, blankets, pencils, colored pencils and bags.
Mr. Mwenze particularly encouraged young girls to continue their studies until they obtain university degrees. « We commend the generous gesture of the NGO CIDI, which has donated school supplies to our students, most of whom have only had two or three notebooks since the beginning of the year. The others don’t even have satchels, and with all this rain, their notebooks are likely to get wet. There are many schools in Lubumbashi, so it is a blessing that you thought of us, » said Wivine Mwambela, headmistress of EP Katuba 1, on behalf of the beneficiaries. CIDI is a non-political platform created in 2016 in Kananga by Michel Muvudi, which works to mobilize young leaders for solidarity actions in education, health and entrepreneurship. ACP/
