Kinshasa, March 3rd, 2026 (CPA).- The Russian Minister in charge of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov, has declared on Tuesday that Moscow had seen no evidence that Iran was developing nuclear weapons, while a war was raging in the Middle East, have reported international media. ‘We have no evidence that Iran was seeking to acquire nuclear weapons. The spread of war in the Middle East increases the risk that nuclear proliferation issues will get out of control,’ Sergey Lavrov has declared. He has additionally warned that the war launched by the United States and Israel against Iran could prompt not only Iran but also its Arab neighbours to seek nuclear weapons. The Kremlin has also declared that there was no indication so far that US involvement in the Middle East conflict would affect the rhythm of peace talks on Ukraine, but has added that ‘time will tell’, considering the attention that Washington must pay to the situation.
