The French President praises the quality of relations with Morocco

Kinshasa, January 8th, 2026 (CPA/MAP) – The French President Emmanuel Macron has praised the excellent relations with Morocco and the enormous prospects for developing the exceptional partnership with the Kingdom on Thursday in Paris, we have learned from the Moroccan Press Agency. ‘In this chaotic world, we believe in the consolidation of partnerships. We have defended this and we have put it into practice,’ has declared Emmanuel Macron. In this context, the French Head of State has cited among the ‘very solid foundations’ of French diplomacy in the Mediterranean the exceptional nature of relations with Morocco, which consist of ‘the construction today of an extremely strong bond’. Emmanuel Macron has emphasised on this occasion on the importance of economic diplomacy and the need to adapt French diplomatic action in the face of on-going geopolitical changes. The French President has also stressed on the need to strengthen the partnership with the African continent. ‘The African partnership is key and we must see the work accomplished through to its conclusion in 2026,’ has added the French President, calling on ambassadors posted in Africa to work hard to achieve this. The Ambassadors’ Conference brings together all French diplomatic representatives in Paris each year around the President of the Republic to set the main priorities of France’s foreign policy for the coming year.
