Kinshasa, November 30th, 2025 (CPA) – Three priority reforms aimed at creating an environment favourable to the development of youth entrepreneurship in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have been recommended on Sunday to this category of entrepreneurs during an interview with CPA in Kinshasa, the country’s capital. ‘To create an environment that is truly favourable to the development of youth entrepreneurship in DRC, three reforms are needed: a profound reform of administrative governance, an ambitious and impact-oriented economic reform, and a forward-looking educational reform,’ has declared Jonathan Tsobo, entrepreneur. According to him, it is essential to simplify the procedures, to digitalise public services and to eliminate the harassments that suffocate the private initiative, because ‘a determined youth cannot move forward in an environment where every step becomes an obstacle course.’ ‘We need an ambitious and impact-oriented economic reform, with truly accessible financing mechanisms, loans adapted to local realities and reduced taxation for young entrepreneurs,’ he has added. « I would like to see experts from the entrepreneurial world placed at the head of institutions in order to improve governance, reduce the gap between public policy and real needs, and accelerate the economic impact among young people. It is not just a question of changing people, but of changing the management culture: putting expertise at the service of the public sector, which is an essential condition in order to sustainably boost the entrepreneurial ecosystem in DRC, » he has said. Mr Tsobo has also explained that if these reforms are carried out seriously, they can transform the entrepreneurial ecosystem in a sustainable way and offer Congolese youth not only the space, but also the means to become a real economic force. ‘Today, more than ever, Congo needs its young people to build stable, inclusive and prosperous development,’ he has concluded.
