Kinshasa, July 28th, 2025 (CPA).– The support of the Head of State, Felix Antoine Tshisekedi, has been reaffirmed for those displaced by armed conflict in the province of Tshopo, in the north-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), by the Minister of Social Affairs, according to a statement from the ministry received by the CPA on Monday.
« I came to assist people displaced by armed conflict in Nord-Kivu and South Kivu, as well as those displaced by inter-community conflict in Tshopo between Mbole and Lengola. To tell them that Congo has a social, humanitarian, compassionate president who is close to his people and has not forgotten them, » said Nathalie-Aziza Munana, Minister in charge of Social Affairs, Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity, quoted in the statement. ‘(…) As I am determined to promote the Head of State’s vision, I wanted to be there a few months ago to accompany the displaced families and also tell them that we have a socially-minded, humanitarian and compassionate President who stands by his people and has his hand on his heart,’ she added.
Ms Munana promised humanitarian assistance and reassured those displaced by armed conflict that, regardless of the tribulations they face, the President is thinking of them and is truly concerned about their situation. The Minister in charge of Foreign Affairs also praised the combined efforts of the Head of State in the search for peace throughout the country with a view to making Congo a united and indivisible country. ‘Today we are regaining peace thanks to his diplomacy at the international level, which is approved throughout the world,’ she said. Ms Aziza Munana, who has been staying in Kisangani, the capital of Tshopo province, since Sunday evening, joined the Prime Minister, Judith Suminwa Tuluka, to implement the actions of the Supreme Commander and guarantor of the institutions in favor of vulnerable people, particularly military wives and their dependents.
