A new rise in the waters of Lake Tanganyika damages infrastructure

Uvira, May 29^th, 2021 (CPA).- A new rise in the waters of Lake Tanganyika damages several infrastructures on the coast of this lake, namely the section of the road located between the DRC and Burundi towards Kamvivira, hotels such as Bahari Beach, Karibu Lodge, Eden City, schools, residential houses, National Road No.5 at Kasenga and Kalundu, the CPA found on Friday. The owners of these infrastructures abandoned them to seek refuge in the city in places a little distant from the lake. The inhabitants of the Kamvivira, Kasenga, Mulongwe, Kimanga, Nyamianda, Kilibula and Kalundu neighborhoods living on Lake Tanganyika also witness the scenario of the visibility of the hippos entering the avenues.
