Development: partnership between Lemba municipality and Ethiopia discussed in Kinshasa

Kinshasa, September 15th, 2025 (CPA). – A partnership for the development of the municipality of Lemba, in the centre of Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, was discussed on Monday during talks between the municipal authorities and a delegation from the Republic of Ethiopia.

‘Today we met with an Ethiopian delegation that will be working with us in partnership for some time to contribute to the development of our municipality. It was a great pleasure to welcome them. It is a great joy for us,’ has said Jean Serge Poba, mayor of Lemba.

‘I came with this team because I got to know them through my private activities. I thought to myself, why not let my municipality benefit from the scale of their projects, so I decided to bring them here to implement their activities,’ he has said.

The municipal authority gave the Ethiopian delegation a tour of the agents’ offices so that they could get a feel for their working conditions and the developments in the municipality.

‘We want to help you build your dream. We want to work together for the prosperity of this city and so that our future generation will be proud of us,’ has said Jean Pierre Bamwena, a member of the Ethiopian delegation. ‘Since my arrival here, I have observed that this municipality needs better management of waste, infrastructure, roads, public transport, as well as drinking water and electricity. We will call on partners in these sectors and work together to improve the situation. Our collaboration today will bring added value to Kinshasa,’ he has concluded.
