Kikwit, July 28th, 2025 (CPA). – Provincial government support for projects with visible impact at the Higher Institute of Education in Kikwit (ISP/Kikwit), in Kwilu (south-west Democratic Republic of Congo), was requested on Monday from the governor for the implementation of the LMD system during his visit to his alma mater.
« We are appealing to our provincial government for both financial and material support for the implementation of our projects with visible impact, in particular the completion of the multi-service building currently under construction, the provision of laboratory equipment and other materials for the successful implementation of the bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate (LMD) system at our institute, » said Prof. Jacques Nkiene, director general of his alma mater.
He said that he has already carried out various actions as part of its modernization, namely the closure of its old site, the construction of professors’ offices and the academic services building, the installation of IT equipment, furniture and fixtures, etc. With parents’ own funds through academic fees, the provincial government’s support is proving to be a lifeline for the rest of his vision, with a view to promoting good education for young people. The provincial governor, Philippe Akamituna, who encouraged the management committee of this higher education institution, promised the director general that his plea would be analyzed within his government, with a view to reaching a satisfactory decision in the future that would be in the interests of the youth of Kwilu in particular and the country in general.
