Kinshasa, February 22nd, 2026 (CPA).- A technical and financial inspection visit to the Ozone C industrial water production complex, located in the commune of Ngaliema (western part of Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo), was carried out on Saturday by the Minister of Finance with a view to a rigorous assessment of the works, which are nearing completion, according to a statement.
“Minister in charge of Finance Doudou Fwamba Likunde conducted an inspection visit this Saturday, February 21st, 2026, to the Ozone water production industrial complex. Upon arrival, he was received by the General Manager of Regideso, Mutombo Tshilumba David; the Coordinator of the Water Project Implementation Unit (CEPO) of the Ministry of Hydraulic Resources and Electricity, Nestor Manduku; and the representative of the World Bank, Ferera Mogusha,” the statement read. Upon arrival at the site, the source indicated that the minister toured all sections of the mega-plant: from water intake to the various stages of treatment, including the computerized production monitoring office and the machine room. At the end of the visit, the minister expressed particular satisfaction with the management of the project. “The financial execution of this project is in perfect alignment with the physical progress observed on the ground,” he stated, while also commending the exemplary execution model of this major project and the work accomplished by the “Kin Elenda” project and CEPO, and thanking the World Bank for its support. With a production capacity of 330,000 cubic meters of water per day and funding of 500 million US dollars, three modules have been built, a first in the DRC. This infrastructure will supply nearly six million residents of Kinshasa, thus fulfilling the Head of State’s promise to improve the social well-being of Congolese citizens through access to basic services. For the Director General of Regideso, this success reflects the vision of the Head of State, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, and he announced that similar projects are planned in Lutendele and Maluku in the near future. For his part, the World Bank representative, Ferera Mogusha, expressed his institution’s pride in the quality of the work carried out by CEPO. Launched nearly six years ago, construction works at the Ozone complex are entering their final phase. According to the statement, the final handover of this mega-plant is expected very soon.
