Kinshasa, June 13th, 2021 (CPA).– The egg sellers deplored, Saturday, the increase in the price of eggs across the city of Kinshasa from 350 (three hundred and fifty) to CDF 500 (five cents) per piece, CPA has seen throughout the past week.
This price increase has caused consumers to lose interest in this product, which is necessary for the nutrition of the human body in proteins, towards other products which are sold at affordable prices.
Asked about the motive for this price increase, some farmers say that the scarcity of this product on the market, automatically leading to the price increase, is caused by the appearance of epidemics which decimate poultry, especially chickens, during the dry season. ACP/
