Strengthening DRC – China and DRC – Korea cooperation on the agenda for Foreign Affairs

Kinshasa, June 12th, 2021 (CPA).- The Deputy Minister in charge of Foreign Affairs, Samy Adubango Awotho, exchanged in turn on Friday in his office, with the Chinese and Korean ambassadors stationed in the Democratic Republic of Congo, on the strengthening of cooperation between the DRC and their respective countries.

With the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zhu Jing, the Deputy Foreign Minister discussed the issue of Sino-Congolese bilateral cooperation.

“This is a regular exchange that I do with my interlocutors from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We have noted the good health of the Sino-Congolese strategic partnership. We all agree to continue our efforts to carry out the current projects but also to prepare for the next events, in particular the Sino-Congolese joint commission in order to better prepare the future of our partnership ”, confided to the press. The Deputy Foreign Minister Samy Adubango Awotho, in the same vein, broached the issue of bilateral cooperation between the DRC and the Republic of Korea, with his second host.

At the end of the audience, the Korean ambassador said he had come to present his courtesies to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and to announce to him that his country has decided to grant the DRC US $ 300,000 to help the victims of the eruption of the Nyiragongo volcano, in the province of North Kivu.

“I had a very successful discussion with the Deputy Minister today. We expressed our satisfaction on the continuity of relations between our two countries. We have agreed to continue to strengthen our relationship which is very strong in the economic, political and development sector. And I also shared with the vice-minister the information to be able to grant 300,000 US dollars to help the victims of the eruption of the Nyiragongo volcano ”, suggested the diplomat of the Republic of Korea, adding:“ it is a great evidence which demonstrates very well the strong cooperation that there has been for ages between our two countries ”.
