The FARDC announces the release of the hostages from the hands of the ADF in Irumu territory in North Kivu

Beni, April 5th, 2021 (CPA), the spokesperson for the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) in Ituri, Lieutenant Jules Ngongo, announced the release last Thursday of 9 hostages from the hands of the ADF / MTN Daesch, in Irumu territory, bordering that of Beni between Ituri and North Kivu. He also reported that 4 ADF rebels were killed in addition to the weapons recovered. Waves of displaced people from areas under pressure from the ADF flooded the city of Komanda and Beni fearing for their safety. Lieutenant Jules Ngongo also indicated that the FARDC will spare no efforts to put an end to this barbarity of the cutthroats in Ituri and encouraged the population for its active denunciations.
