Kinshasa, September 16th, 2025 (CPA). – The US president has announced on Tuesday the elimination of a third Venezuelan vessel used to transport drugs to the United States, the international media reports have reported. ‘In fact, we have eliminated three boats, not two, but you have seen two. Stop sending drugs to the United States,’ Donald Trump has declared. According to Donald Trump, a first US strike against a boat presented as belonging to traffickers had killed eleven people last week in the Caribbean, where the United States has deployed military forces in the name of fighting drug cartels. Two US strikes against boats used to transport drugs to the United States were already known. The US government has not yet provided further details on the location or exact date of this third strike.
A ‘legitimate right to defend itself’
The United States accuses Venezuela of leading a drug trafficking network, the Cartel of the Suns, whose existence is subject to debate. ‘There is an on-going military aggression and Venezuela is entitled under international law to respond,’ has said Nicolas Maduro, Venezuelan President. ‘Legitimate right to defend itself,’ he has warned. He has dismissed the US accusations as ‘lies,’ claiming that cocaine exported to the United States, the world’s largest consumer, mainly transits through the Pacific and ports.
