Kinshasa, October 23rd, 2025 (CPA).- The digital campus of the Higher Pedagogical Institute of Gombe (ISP/Gombe), located in northern Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, was inaugurated on Thursday during a ceremony held at the alma mater in the Congolese capital, the CPA has reported. « Today is a special day for the entire community of the Higher Pedagogical Institute of Gombe (ISP/Gombe). One of the major objectives set at the beginning of our mandate is finally coming to fruition: the construction and renovation of this digital campus to improve the quality of training and transform working conditions, » has said Gertrude Ekombe, General Director of ISP/Gombe.
Ms Ekombe has added that in a world where technology is evolving at a rapid pace, it is essential for institutions to adapt, anticipate and reinvent themselves. According to her, this digital building is a concrete response to the challenge of digital transformation. It opens up new perspectives, the production of educational content, collaborative research, the development of digital skills and much more. According to her, this new building has 11 modern lecture halls, a digital room, a large conference room, 29 offices for departments, sections, the management committee and a doctoral school, which was previously housed in a container. It can accommodate up to 2,000 students every day. In his turn, Lefranke Mbo Basil, cabinet director of the general director of ISP/Gombe, made the following statement: ‘The management committee has made the effort to construct a large four-storey building, and today is the day. The work is complete and we are ready to inaugurate this digital campus.’
The ISP Gombe digital campus has been built to international standards. It includes offices, classrooms, a digital room and various services. It measures 940 m², is 47 metres long and 20 metres wide, and has a ground floor and three upper floors.
