The functionality of medical innovations at the centre of an inspection visit in Kinshasa

Kinshasa, September 18th, 2025 (CPA).– The functionality of medical innovations at the Renaissance University Hospital Centre (CHUR, formerly Maman Yemo) has been the focus of a visit on Thursday to Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo by the Minister in charge of Public Health, Hygiene and Social Welfare, according to an official statement received by CPA. ‘The CHUR has had the honour of welcoming Dr Samuel Roger Kamba, Minister in charge of Public Health, Hygiene and Social Welfare, as part of a surprise visit aimed at assessing the functionality and innovations implemented within the institution,’ It is read.

According to the source, during his visit, the minister has noted the significant progress made by the hospital, including the implementation of electronic medical records, the launching of a call centre, and other initiatives in line with the Head of State’s vision for modernising the healthcare system.

Dr Kamba, quoted in the press release, has expressed his satisfaction with the efforts already made and highlighted the challenges that remain, including the completion of hospital infrastructure and the provision of adequate equipment.
