CAF-Champions League: Mazembe redeems himself against Al Hilal (2-1)

Kinshasa, April 10th, 2021 (CPA) .- To close the group stage of the Champions League, TP Mazembe of DR Congo redeemed himself by winning against Al Hilal Omdurman of Sudan by 2-1, Friday at the TP Mazembe stadium in the town of Kamalondo, in Lubumbashi, in a match of the 6th and final day of group B of the 25th Champions League of the African Football Confederation (CAF). The Lubumbashi team Mazembe offered the victory (2-1) thanks to the achievements of Ouatara M. against his camp (18th) and Isaac Tshibangu (76th).

And yet, Mugadam M. (2nd) had cold picked the Lubumbashi club by opening the scoring in front of a very feverish Mazembe defense. Mazembe still saved the honor, despite being eliminated at this stage of the competition, as did his Sudanese opponent.

Belouizdad achieves a feat against Sundowns (2-0)

In the other Group B game, Algerians CR Belouizdad achieved a feat by defeating South Africans Mamelodi Sundowns 2-0 on the same day in Pretoria, goals Sayoud (29th) and Gasmi (45th) in the first period, which allowed the Algerians to win a historic qualification, 19 years after their last participation in the Champions League. Mamelodi Sundowns finished first in Group B with 13 points, followed by CR Belouizdad 9 pts, TP Mazembe 5 pts and Al Hilal 4 points.
